Job Summary

Major Tasks

Daily Machinery Maintenance:

• Be responsible for general tracks maintenance tasks on such as divots repair, greens keeping, rail positioning.
• Race meeting operations.
• Operate turf maintenance machinery and tractor, carry out routine checks (e.g. change of oil, filter, etc.) on all track maintenance and turf management equipment and machinery.
• Undertake training to handle the following tasks:
  • pesticide application
  • track mowing and renovation with machinery
  • perform routine checks on all track maintenance machinery
  • repair on defective machinery and overhaul/repair/body work
  • implement occupational health and safety standard under the workshop environment
  • spare parts stock ordering and asset management
  • starting gate positioning
• Perform tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor
• Require to work irregular hours and in different location

Raceday Operations

• Attend race meeting and perform duties such as assist starting gate positioning, divot repair, assist presentation stage mobilisation, emergent rail repair at the incident scene, etc. as assigned by the Assistant Tracks Supervisor.

Turf Barrier Trial Operations

• Attend Turf Barrier Trials
• Assist setting up and mobilisation of starting gates
• Assist Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Supervisor to undertake emergent repair on gate/stall at the start

Other Duties:

• Train to operate heavy duty equipment such as tractors, heavy duty mower, harrows, dirt track plants etc.
• Train to perform highly skilled and core maintenance tasks for track maintenance such as pesticides application and mowing.
• Required to work overtime in case of emergency;
• Carry out other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Education

• Preferably with experience in vehicle and machinery maintenance.
• Recognized job experience, apprenticeship qualifications or equivalent will be an advantage;
• Willing to work overtime

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license (at least class 1 and 2) is required
• Be able to handle simple excel spreadsheet and word document will be an advantage
