跑道護養員 (凌晨更)

Job Summary

The job holder works on the general maintenance of tracks and running of race day operation and supports the general maintenance and improvement of the racing and training surfaces, and fringe areas.

Major Tasks

  • Undertake various duties on the turf track and associated areas, such as repairing the turf track, repositioning the rails, and conducting off-season renovations.
  • Monitor the quality of work assigned against prescribed standards.
  • Carry out various duties at other training surfaces, including harrowing, rolling, leveling dirt tracks, and cleaning ditches.
  • Provide hands-on training and guidance to staff members on maintenance and machine operation skills to comply with OSH standards.
  • Operate small to heavy track maintenance plants and vehicles to support various maintenance activities (e.g., fertilizer application and pesticide spraying).
  • Be responsible for the general tidiness of the surroundings in the track area.
  • Process and keep records (attendance, daily work schedule) for team members and submit these records to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in running race day operations.
  • Perform other maintenance activities as assigned by the supervisor.

Education

Form 3 education or above.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, understanding of basic Mandarin is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong analytical skill and the patience to work long, unsociable hours, on weekends and under tough weather condition. 
  • Enthusiasm to learn and to get hands-on. 
  • A valid driving licence (Class 1 and 2) is required. 
  • Hands-on experience in using Microsoft Office applications.
