Assistant Due Diligence and Research Manager
Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for preparing and reviewing due diligence reports independently to support the objective of protecting the Club's integrity, as well as performing Customer Due Diligence activities and co-ordinating the Know Your Customers (KYC) / Anti-Money Laundering (AML) efforts across SIIS, CSII and within WP Division.
Major Tasks
- Prepare due diligence reports independently that are intended for the Club's senior management by conducting open-source research with a focus on the analysis of entities or events under minimal supervision.
- Assist the supervisors in reviewing and ensuring the quality of the reports prepared by the analysts, and evaluating the information and information sources for accuracy, reliability and relevance in assessing risk impacting the Club and produce top-quality due diligence and research-related support of the Due Diligence Section's wider objectives.
- Provide assessment or recommendation to the management that are aligned to the Club's vision and mission in order to mitigate/reduce the risks identified in the due diligence process. Monitors the execution of proposed actions.
- Assist in the preparation and provision of formal Due Diligence training programs to both departmental staff as well as Club's colleagues. Proactively look to undertake training and development programs in order to gain a greater managerial understanding of the Due Diligence program (for SIIS only)
- Identify new sources of information, research tools, and approaches for conducting due diligence, identifying solutions which look to simplify and/or automate part of the Section's risk-assessment process.
- Assist the management in identifying technical deficiencies and efficiency gaps in the due diligence program and provide solutions to address the issues and improve the program.
- Assist the supervisors in allocating and prioritising cases based on the potential risk to the Club and the section's agreements with the business units.
- Act as the deputy of the Due Diligence and Research Manager in ensuring the sustainability of the due diligence program and balancing the level of resources and the allocation of work. (for SIIS only)
- (For WP) Request for Information (RFI) raised by SIIS: - Actions on SIIS text sending requests; - Handles freeze account requests; - Notifies relevant Customer Growth and Experience (CGE) Segment Managers
- (For WP) CDD Standard Operation Procedure (SoP): Establishes CDD Standard Operation Procedures (SoP) for WP Division; Gathers feedback and consolidates comments from stakeholders on the process; Recommends processes improvement and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency; Reviews and proposes for management approval. Streamlines procedures of CDD related exercise, including: Source of Wealth (SoW) SoP; Referral from SIIS; Account Not Used for Betting; Recommendation for Account Closure (RAC); Professional Punters; Betting Account Balance Monitoring and Control; Betting Account Cash Withdrawal Limit Monitoring and Control
- Undertakes other duties as assigned by Line Manager.
Education
A bachelor degree from any disciplines
Qualifications
Relevant professional qualification is a plus (e.g. AAMLP/ACAMS certification)
