Assistant Security Manager (Operations Planning and Logistics)

The Division

The Security, Integrity and Information Security (“SIIS") Division is responsible for the preservation of integrity by combatting criminality and corruption risks that can threaten horse racing, betting, and membership at the Club. The maintenance of a secure environment and integrity is key to our business. Not only is it important to ensure horse racing in Hong Kong is fair, it is also of paramount importance to the Club that there is governance and fair opportunities in all bet-placements. The department consists of Integrity & Financial Crime Risk, Racing Security & Integrity Assurance, Corporate Security and Information Security Risk & Assurance functions

Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for the following areas: race day and non-race day logistic support, procurement and maintenance of physical security equipment and assets, store management and stock in-out management, security patrol system management, and other administrative works/ ad-hoc tasks/ projects as directed by line manager.

The Job

  • Race Day and Non-race Day Logistic Support:
    • Manage the logistics work for security posts in racecourses and the security equipment that supports non-race day security and race day operations.
    • Perform overtime claim management for Security Operations Team in the RTA (Rostering, Time and Attendance) system.
    • Perform on-boarding process for new joiners such as uniform, locker allocation and SPP (Security Personnel Permit) documentations.
  • Store Management and Stock In-Out Management:
    • Maintain a stock record for equipment and stock in store and conduct regular stock check and housekeep of the store rooms.
    • Distribute and deliver the required day-to-day equipment and consumable items to the guard posts and maintain stock in-out record.
    • Manage the retention documents in the store room on a regular basis and handle the disposal of obsolete documents.
    • Perform key management for the department such as manages security posts key bags and key boxes and maintains key records and conducts regular key boxes inspection at all guard posts.
  • Procurement and Maintenance of Physical Security Equipment and Assets:
    • Handle purchase requests raised by various parties.
    • Source suppliers and sometimes made the purchase for urgent requests.
    • Purchase routine consumable items such as stationery and operational equipment (traffic cones, mill barriers, radios and related accessories).
    • Handle maintenance request of security equipment and assets (such as radio and vehicles).
  • Security Patrol System Management:
    • Manage the process of patrol route system and coordinating with relevant departments in resolving errors.
  • Team Management and Events Support Management:
    • Assist in managing and developing a team of Security Supervisors and Officers to provide support to Corporate Security.
    • Manage and supervises Security Supervisors, Officers and Part-time staff.
    • Plan and arrange law enforcement officers, security contractors and/or part-time staff to support race meetings and Club's events.
    • Perform race day duty to support Security Operations to supervise and deploy in-house and contracted security personnel; ad-hoc operational duty for other Club's events in Hong Kong, the mainland (in particular Conghua Racecourse) and/or any other places outside Hong Kong.
  • Undertake other administrative works/ ad-hoc tasks/ projects as directed by supervisor.

About You

  • Tertiary education level preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the security field or disciplinary services
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for a lower-level position
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Cantonese
  • Good report writing skills
  • Holder of valid Security Personal Permit
  • Holder of a valid driving license code no. 1 and 2 is a plus
