(Assistant) Manager, Charities (Academy for Professional Sports Development)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Department

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Job

  • Coordinate and support the implementation, monitoring and delivery of APSD programmes, working closely with grantees and partners to ensure programme objectives, timelines and deliverables are achieved
  • Manage programme monitoring and reporting processes, including tracking outputs, outcomes, budgets, risks, and key performance indicators
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including NGO partners, evaluation partners, consultants and service providers, to facilitate effective programme delivery and impact assessment
  • Consolidate and analyse programme data, prepare progress reports and presentations, and provide insights to support programme oversight and management decision-making
  • Support the implementation of programme governance processes, including preparing reports, papers, and updates for governance bodies and senior management
  • Coordinate programme-related activities, including training courses, workshops, events, engagement activities and other programme deliverables
  • Support the planning and execution of participant engagement initiatives, thematic campaigns and communication activities to enhance programme reach and participant experience
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Procurement, Branding and Public Affairs, and Charities Engagement, to support programme implementation and administration
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations and correspondence, and participate in cross-functional and ad hoc projects as assigned

About You

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Sports/Recreation Management, Education, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related disciplines
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in programme management, grant-making, sports development, education, social impact, nonprofit organisations, or public administration
  • Experience managing complex projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve programme objectives
  • Experience in programme monitoring, evaluation, performance measurement, and reporting
  • Experience engaging with NGOs, sports organisations, educational institutions, professional bodies, and/or government agencies
  • Experience in talent development, workforce development, capacity building, or HR-related initiatives is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the local sports development landscape and related sectors is an advantage
  • Strong programme and project management skills
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and partnership management capabilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills
  • Ability to synthesise and communicate quantitative and qualitative findings effectively
  • Excellent written and presentation skills in English and Chinese
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of programme monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement methodologies is an advantage
