Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Finance Division is a key business partner, balancing oversight with support. With uncompromising integrity at its core, the division works proactively and collaboratively to deliver insights, enable solutions, and drive financial stewardship, contributing to the Club’s sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term success.
The Department
Our Finance Department is responsible for providing financial analysis, planning, control and accounting services to the key business units within the Club. With the Club developing its business to meet new customer needs, Finance is playing an expanded and increasingly proactive role.
We are now looking for a proactive and self-motivated individual to join its Planning and Analysis team to provide analytical support to business units.
The Job
- Support and coordinate the financial planning process, carry out business and financial review on a regular basis
- Ensure the financial results of the business units are accurately reflected in the Club’s and / or the subsidiaries’ financial statements
- Review, evaluate and monitor CAPEX investments, project expenditure and funding requests to ensure alignment with business objectives and governance requirements.
- Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards to facilitate management decision-making and business performance tracking.
- Work closely with stakeholders on annual budget and monthly forecast
- Provide value-added analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
- Develop business models for management’s decision, and to facilitate financial performance monitoring
- Identify and monitor key business drivers, track and report on the impact
- Drive continuous improvement of budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes through standardisation, automation and adoption of data analytics tools and technologies.
- Support the implementation of internal control policies
- Conduct contract review to ensure the compliance with internal policies and to protect the best interests of the Club
- Support ad-hoc assignment
About You
- A degree in accounting, finance or related field with recognised accounting qualification
- At least 3 years’ of work experience in relevant fields, with solid experience in management accounting, financial planning & analysis and / or financial modelling in a medium to large sized organizations
- Demonstrated interest in leveraging technology, automation and process improvement to enhance forecasting, reporting efficiency and business insights.
- Strong analytical, inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with internal customers
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
- Proficiency in using Excel, PowerPoint and Word, prefer knowledge of data analytics and automation tools, such as Power BI and/or Alteryx, and awareness of AI-enabled tools.
