Deputy Executive Manager, Charities (Programme Communication & Content Development)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The Job
- Lead the Charities Engagement team in developing and implementing strategic engagement communication plans that aligned with the Trust’s strategy and purpose.
- Work closely with Charities programme teams to craft compelling narratives and content that highlight the Trust’s impact, promote its work and engage diverse audience.
- Develop communication materials e.g. Trust newsletter; content for Trust’s signature events such as Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum, Scholarships Presentation Ceremony; and programmes that support stakeholders engagement.
- Plan, supervise, and evaluate the effectiveness of multi-channel publicity campaigns to amplify project impact and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with internal divisions to support joint campaigns and initiatives that build awareness and reinforce the Club’s philanthropic leadership and community contributions.
- Work closely with the editorial group and Charities Programme Teams to develop compelling content and impact stories for the Charities & Community Content Hub.
- Oversee the preparation of content for the Trust’s section in the Club’s Annual Report and other key corporate publications.
- Plan and oversee the professional development of team members to enhance skills in communications and storytelling.
- Manage the team’s budget, procurement, and operational processes to ensure seamless execution of communication initiatives
About You
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, journalism, public relations, digital and media relations, stakeholder management as well as a strong network with relevant stakeholders.
- Relevant working experiences in not-for-profit organisation or public sector
- Strong passion in charities and community services
