The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The Job
- Lead the planning, development, implementation and management of a portfolio of Trust-funded sports initiatives, including Trust-initiated projects, strategic grant-making programmes and "M" Mark event Community Partnership Programmes, to achieve the Trust's sports objectives and community impact.
- Provide strategic oversight of funded projects and programmes, ensuring effective governance, risk management, stakeholder coordination, budget control and achievement of intended outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with National Sports Associations (NSAs), sports organisations, NGOs, schools, government bureaux/departments and other key stakeholders; monitor sector developments and identify opportunities for collaboration and programme development.
- Lead the assessment, development and management of grant-making proposals and funding applications for iconic sports and community partnership programmes for "M" Mark events, including due diligence, project design, governance review, budget assessment and impact evaluation.
- Prepare recommendations, analyses, reports and presentations for senior management, committees and governance bodies to support strategic decision-making and portfolio management.
- Coordinate and mobilise internal and external resources, including cross-functional teams, consultants and service providers, to support the effective delivery of assigned initiatives.
- Identify emerging trends, needs and opportunities in the sports sector, and contribute to the development of new initiatives, partnerships and funding strategies that advance the Trust's priorities.
- Support the Executive Manager, Charities (Sports) in portfolio planning, sector engagement, strategic projects and stakeholder initiatives, including major sector events and platforms, as assigned.
About You
- Bachelor's degree or above in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Sports/Recreation Management, Education, Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related disciplines. Postgraduate qualifications and/or professional certifications are an advantage.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in philanthropy, grant-making, sports development, education, public administration, social impact, nonprofit management or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex programmes, strategic initiatives or multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Proven experience in team leadership, staff development and performance management.
Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership management involving government bodies, NGOs, sports organisations, educational institutions and professional associations. - Experience in programme governance, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment and resource management.
- Experience in workforce development, talent development or capacity-building initiatives is an advantage.
- Good understanding of Hong Kong's sports, education and social development landscape.
- Strong leadership and programme management capabilities.
- Proven stakeholder engagement, influencing and partnership management skills.
- Strong governance, risk management and resource management capabilities.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate evidence and insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Strong people management, coaching and team development capabilities.
- Good understanding of government policies, philanthropy, social impact and sports development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
