Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.
The Department
The Mainland Affairs Department (Policy & Stakeholders Engagement) is responsible for strategic liaison and engagement with Mainland stakeholders in both governmental and nongovernmental sectors through a wide range of programmes, events and platforms with a view to supporting the Club's operations and development in the Mainland. The department also keeps track of policies, measures and regulations pertaining to the Club’s operations and development in the Mainland and identifies potential challenges and opportunities.
Reporting to the Manager, Mainland Affairs, the post holder is responsible for liaising with Mainland stakeholders and partners to roll out events and programmes related to the Club’s racing tourism initiatives, thereby promoting the Club as a global sports entertainment organisation.
The Job
- Maintain regular liaison with Mainland stakeholders and partners to co-develop strategic plans and engagement approaches that promote the Club’s racing tourism initiatives.
- Assist in the rollout and operational delivery of Club-led racing tourism and Year-of-the-Horse events, ensuring smooth execution, widespread awareness and positive impacts.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective coordination and communication across all Mainland-related activities, including racing tourism events and strategic engagements.
- Support the planning and organisation of events and activities to facilitate the engagement with strategic stakeholders.
- Provide support for business trips and other departmental works.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors
About You
- A recognised university degree major in social sciences, public administration, communications, public relations/ journalism or a related discipline is preferred
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Proficiency in Putonghua is mandatory
- Experience in dealing with Mainland regulators and agencies preferred
