Mainland Affairs Officer (1-year temporary contract)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club ("the Club") is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

 

The Division

The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.​​​

 

The Department

The Mainland Affairs Department (Policy & Stakeholders Engagement) is responsible for strategic liaison and engagement with Mainland stakeholders across both governmental and non-governmental sectors. Through a wide range of programmes, events and engagement platforms, the Department supports the Club's operations and long-term development in the Mainland. It also monitors relevant policies, measures and regulatory developments affecting the Club, and identifies potential challenges and opportunities arising therefrom.

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Mainland Affairs, the post holder is responsible for supporting the Club's engagement with the strategic Mainland stakeholders including HK-based Mainland authorities, state-owned enterprises, political leaders, etc. He/She will support the implementation of initiatives and engagement activities relating to youth development, sports, culture and social betterment, thereby strengthening the Club's relationships within the Hong Kong and Mainland political ecosystems and supporting the Club's strategic and long-term development objectives.

 

The Job

  • Assist in organizing meetings, events, visits, and engagement activities, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and preparation of materials.
  • Support communication and coordination with internal departments and external organizations on administrative matters.
  • Maintain records, databases, filing systems, and other administrative documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Handle travel arrangements, reimbursement claims, procurement requests, and other logistical tasks as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors

 

About You

  • A recognised university degree is preferred.
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in Putonghua is mandatory
