Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Job Summary
The job holder supports the implementation of stakeholder engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing the Trust’s profile. This includes assisting with communications on the Trust’s strategies and impact to key stakeholders, such as community leaders, grantees, and partners, to reinforce its position as Hong Kong’s largest community benefactor and one of the world’s leading charitable foundations.
The role supports the planning and execution of the Trust’s signature events, contributing to the strengthening of stakeholder relationships and the amplification of the Trust’s impact. Additionally, the job holder assists in ongoing efforts to deepen stakeholder engagement in collaboration with senior team members.
The Job
- Support the execution of the stakeholder engagement plan by assisting in outreach to key groups, including the Club’s senior members, community leaders, and grantees.
- Assist in planning and delivering the Trust’s signature events (e.g. Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum, Community Day, Charities Spring Luncheon, Scholarships Presentation Ceremony & Dinner), as well as supporting new initiatives to broaden stakeholder networks.
- Handle and coordinate publicity and acknowledgement matters of grantees and project partners for all BAU and Trust‑Initiated Projects (TIPs).
- Liaise and collaborate with Charities Programme Teams and other internal stakeholders to support the implementation of engagement strategies and programmes.
- Provide support for the Trust’s participation and representation in external events such as ceremonies, launch events and seminars.
- Support smooth execution of engagement plans and events by coordinating logistics, preparing materials, monitoring risks, and escalating issues when necessary.
- Participate in and contribute to staff engagement initiatives within the division, promoting a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Assist with budget tracking, procurement processes, and daily operational tasks of the team to support effective use of resources.
About You
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in event management, customer relations, or marketing communications.
- Proven experience in coordinating event logistics and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the social welfare sector, community services, or philanthropy is preferred.
- Excellent written and communication skills in both Chinese and English, along with skills regarding stakeholder management, event management, strategic communications, public relations, along with issue management & crisis sensitivities
