Public Affairs Officer (2-month internship)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.
Job Summary
The job holder will work with various internal departments and external parties in the implementation of communication strategies and assignments for the purpose of maximising positive media publicity for Hong Kong's world class racing and charity organizations. The job holder will provide support in any assigned tasks by his/her line manager including all translation/ editing/ writing tasks on corporate materials and/or charities materials.
The Job
- Assist the team on a range of public affairs assignments, such as preparing of internal and/or external communications materials, writing and translation for the Club's, its Charities Trust and the Institute of Philanthropy (IoP).
- Assist the team in media monitoring, news summary preparation and transcription of significant interviews with the aim of providing timely digest of news reports to senior management.
- Support the team in preparation of external/cross-divisional documents, including correspondence, presentations and reports.
- Assist the team in organising internal appointments, meetings and external events/ceremony.
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's business
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
About You
- University degree in a related discipline or relevant qualification equivalent to minimum of 2 years' experience in Public Affairs, Communications or related disciplines.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in public affairs / Corporate communication department
