Senior Manager, Charities (Promoting Safe Falling Among Older Adults)

The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The Department
Reporting to Head of Charities (Health & Older Adults Cluster) and Executive Manager (Health; Older Adults), the job holder will have the primary duty to manage the implementation of a project to promote safe falling among older adults. The job holder will also support the grant-making function and management of other projects under the “Health” impact programme.
The Job
- Manage the implementation of a large-scale project to promote safe falling among older adults, including but not limited to formulating strategic directions and work plans, working in partnership with NGOs, universities, healthcare professionals and other strategic partners to ensure effective project delivery and execution, monitoring project budget, outputs and outcomes as well as purchasing and supplies functions, coordinating progress update and meetings, preparing reports, maintaining proper records, and ensuring that the project can achieve its pledged deliverables and desired impact;
- Provide coaching, guidance and support to Project Team Member concerning effective implementation, mitigation of risksI internal and external communication;
- Perform other grant-making functions under the "Health" impact programme such as developing strategic imperatives, assessing donation applications' merits, budget and impact, liaising with project partners and drafting approval papers;
- Conduct research on social issues and community needs related to the prioritised issue "Healthy Community" such as literature review, policy analysis, data analysis and stakeholder engagement;
- Support the implementation of other projects under the "Health" impact programme, and carry out other duties as directed by management.
About You
- Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Social Science or health-related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience
- Background in public health or social science preferred
- Experience in dealing/working with government, NGOs, education sector and professional bodies would be an added advantage
- Strong ability to interface with people with various functions and levels
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge on government policies and insights on community service needs, particularly public health and elderly services
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred
