Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

 

The Division

The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement.  With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.

 

Job Summary

The Racing Club is a high-profile business initiative aimed at nurturing the interest of a new generation of young and affluent racing fans and grooming them to be the next generation of horse-owning Members and race-goers. It was set up in 2007 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the HK Jockey Club with its own Board of Directors.


The Racing Club also has a wholly-owned subsidiary itself, namely The Racing Club Horse Management Limited, which will own and manage at least three race horses. The directors of these companies comprise of Voting Members appointed by the Racing Club’s Board of Directors.

 

The Racing Club operations essentially have 3 functions:

  • Members’ recruitment and servicing
  • Members’ events (racing and non-racing)
  • Club horse management

 

The Job

  • Provide service at The Racing Club's dining venues, including those located at Happy Valley Racecourse and Sha Tin Racecourse, on both racedays and non-racedays
  • Warmly welcome and build friendly relationships with Members and their guests at The Racing Club venues
  • Answer The Racing Club hotline and respond to general inquiries from Members about the available services and events
  • Process table-booking requests from members, whether received by phone or through online channels
  • Maximize seat and table utilization at the venues by developing daily booking and seating plans, and prepare venue utilization reports
  • Provide on-site support to ensure the successful execution of internal events
  • Reply to written and online inquiries, and assist with other office administration tasks
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager

 

About You

  • Diploma or above in Hospitality Management or related disciplines preferred
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in person and on phone
  • Customer-centricity and attention to details and logistics
  • Professional manner on handling confidential information
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Hands-on computer skill in MS Word & Excel
  • Ability to work on night races, non-office working hours and Public Holidays
