The Division

The Role
Reporting to the Head of IT Strategy, Planning and Business Management, the Executive Manager for IT Planning & Financial Management is accountable for financial planning and reporting across the IT Division. This includes establishing a transparent view of all IT costs, which is essential for informed decision-making, and for working with teams to manage costs to target.
The role involves leading the IT Financial Management team to drive divisional planning for over $3.2bn HK of IT run and change costs, and providing both strategic and operational financial support to various teams. Additionally, this role is responsible for improving the financial management capabilities within the IT team to deliver more accuracy into the planning and budgeting processes.
The holder of this role will need to collaborate closely with IT teams and the Finance team to implement effective internal controls. Furthermore, their team will actively identify and promote cross-functional financial improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and effectiveness across IT Division.
Major Tasks
- Drives divisional planning for IT and coordination with major stakeholders to develop a viable plan and credible financial forecast in alignment with the overall IT strategy.
- Oversees divisional change and run budgets, financial forecasts and reporting for IT, working closely with teams across IT to ensure that IT meet its objectives.
- Work with financial managers across the IT Division, in particular within the Change Management Office and ITIPO, to develop a consolidated view of IT finances.
- Work closely with the Central Finance team to ensure that we are compliant with financial standards and accounting practices.
- Develop and implement key initiatives, such as a show back model to enhance transparency in IT costs and improve financial accountability.
- Collaborate closely with other finance teams to identify financial improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the IT Division.
- Improve financial management capabilities within the IT team by enhancing their understanding of budgeting processes and financial analysis.
- Lead a small team of finance professionals, ensuring that the team are well managed and able to meet expectations.
- Select, develop and retain top talent to provide high quality financial support to IT Division and ensure compliance.
- Create and foster a diverse and inclusive culture with trust and respect to attract, develop and retain talents. Serves as a role model to support cross team/ division/ department efforts and model collaborative behaviors. Inspires the team to bring forward ideas and solutions to empower the people to accelerate for business success.
About You
- University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or Finance, with relevant professional qualification(s) such as CA, CPA
- 10+ years of experience in business management or financial management
- Minimum 5+ years in managerial positions
- Effective communicator to different levels of stakeholders and can present complex ideas and technical details into layman terms
- Attention to details for accuracy, while maintaining “Big Picture” strategic mindset
- Excellent communication and report writing skills in English and preferably Cantonese and Putonghua
- Understand industry best practices and trends on IT Financial standards and internal control
- Technically astute, strategic mindset with strong analytical and decision-making ability
- Good business and product knowledge of the Club and understanding of the business strategies, priorities, risks and controls of the IT Division
