Expert Work Rider
Job Summary
The job holder studies wide range of courses to acquire different skills to meet the needs of various positions. Responsibilities include participating in supervised trackwork, horse grooming, assisting with stable duties, attending various training courses (riding, stable management, physical training, finance, academics), undergoing continuous assessments, following trainer instructions, attending academic and riding lessons, and enhancing skills through international training experiences.
Major Tasks
- Prepare for trackwork under supervision from Instructors
- Grooming of horses
- Assist in stable work including feeding horses, cleaning stables etc.
- Participate in training course for riding, stable management, physical training, financial management and traditional academic subjects.
- Continuous assessment and knowledge tests for Racing Trainees are conducted throughout the Course to ensure that all those taking part reach competent levels in line with the requirements for employment at the Club.
- Follow the instructions and guidance from trainers
- Attend both academic and riding lessons
- Strengthen race-riding skills and stables management through overseas training and to learn about other racing cultures
