Manager, Beverage
Job Summary
The job holder assists in managing beverage services in the outlets and bar operations to meet business and customer service goals. Responsibilities include enhancing beverage sales and profitability, crafting unique customer experiences, differentiating the outlets with innovative products and services, engaging with members, and leading a team focused on excellence and customer engagement.
Major Tasks
Achieving Business Results and Managing Cost Base
- Collaborate with culinary, Procurement, and Membership Marketing teams for programs and marketing campaigns
- Develop wine retail plan, events, wine lists, and wine-by-glass programs
- Develop wine sourcing strategy
- Set realistic and achievable targets to maximize business return
- Review financial performance against plan and take corrective measures
Providing Excellent Services to Members and Guests
- Build strong relationships with Members through frequent contact
- Solicit and log Members' feedback, sharing it with the team
- Develop events and programs based on Members' demands and interests
- Monitor market trends and recommend new products and technologies
- Master membership MCRM and hospitality service systems
Driving Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous operation and process improvements
- Develop and recommend solutions
- Participate in cross-BU collaboration projects and committees
- Research and benchmark relevant topics
- Develop strategies for business improvement
Ensuring Compliance with SOP Requirements
Ensure operations comply with SOP requirements and recommend SOP changes if necessary.
Meeting Compliance Requirements
- Manage food and beverage quality, service standards, facilities, and safety records
- Arrange training sessions and briefings for staff
- Enforce the HACCP system and participate in the HACCP Committee
- Attain re-certification during audits
- Work with the Food Safety Quality Assurance team on related issues
Ensuring Safety Regulations Compliance
- Ensure staff follow safety work practices under constant review
- Review and inspect facilities regularly
- Participate in the divisional work safety committee
Leading and Engaging Team Members
- Make recruitment decisions and plan succession for key positions
- Inspire and motivate staff through engagement activities
- Coach for performance and handle staff issues
ObservingBehaviour and Service Standards
- Lead by example with a strong presence on the floor
- Communicate effectively, motivate, and coach staff
- Improve service efficiency and resource planning
- Resolve issues and perform effective service recovery
Other Duties
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education
A degree or higher Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent
Qualifications
- Accredited international wine master certification
- Minimum of Advance WSET and or Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommelier
- (Obtained the Wine and Spirit Education Test Level 3 for Beverage Manager)
Experience
At least 5 years' experience in similar position in hotels or clubs
