(Assistant) Manager, Finance (Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Assistant Finance Manager/Manager, Finance is responsible for providing financial support and management information to facilitate budgeting & planning, performance monitoring and management decision making. The position also plays a key role in overseeing and executing financial control activities over Business Unit expenditure. The Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis – Financial Controller team’s scope of responsibility covers the following Business Units: Finance Division, Audit, S&I, L&C, CEOO

The Job

• Support business decision making
  • Develop in-depth understanding of the Corporate Function businesses and organization and produce regular management information to facilitate performance monitoring and management discussion. Identify and monitor key business driver.
• Support effective financial planning, analysis, and reporting
  • Analysis and recommendations to Budget Holders are data-driven to provide accurate budget and forecasting including quarterly seasonality
  • FABP submissions for CAPEX and Headcount forecast and budget assumptions are validated, including review by IT and HR business partners, prior to submission (including quarterly seasonality)
  • Adherence to the budget process, timeline and guidelines, including timely and accurate budget and forecast submissions within FABP.
  • DOP and Budget Review Analysis Templates are completed with sufficient and accurate detail to facilitate effective Budget Reviews in May each year
• Continue process improvements to simplify, standardize and automate processes/reports
• Support effective financial governance and control
  • Assessment of expenditure authorization requests and funding approvals, including contract review and approval
  • Enforcing and monitoring adherence to Finance Policy and SDA
  • Identification and remediation of internal control weaknesses within Business Unit financial processes

About You

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines with recognised accounting qualification
• At least 7 years of professional experience in finance/accounting industry with knowledge of financial planning and analysis
• Good business acumen and strategic thinking with strong analytical skills
• Experience working in organisations with diverse operations & dealing with multiple stakeholders is beneficial
• Financial modelling and activity based financial analysis experience is an asset
• Other proficiencies includes:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation and team player
  • Good communication skills in English and preferably Cantonese and Putonghua
  • Strong computer literacy in using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Financial System is an asset
• Technical accounting standards knowledge; including:
  • Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards
  • Hong Kong Auditing Standards
