Assistant Charities Manager (Compliance and Risk Management)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Job Summary
The job holder will coordinate and support the centralised functions of Strategic Planning, Operations & Reporting. He / she will mainly provide assistance in the areas of compliance, risk management, process review, due diligence, audit coordination, and other compliance exercises.
The Job
- Work on new initiatives, developments, and enhancements within Charities to ensure adequate governance and controls while improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures for Charities and TIPs projects.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with Charities and TIPs projects.
- Perform data research and analysis on project partners, suppliers, and beneficiaries for process review or due diligence purpose.
- Coordinate internal audits and other compliance exercises and ensure compliance.
- Support any other work as assigned by supervisors.
About You
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, preferably in compliance / accounting / audit
- Experience in NGOs, Government, or public and social service sectors owuld be an advantage
- Good computer literacy in using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Good analytical, organizational and report writing skills
- Good communication skills and langauge proficiency (both English and Chinese)
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Good people management skills in leading and interacting with various internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work under pressure
