Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.​​​

Job Summary

Reporting to Senior Manager, External Affairs, the post holder assists in: 

• planning and implementation of community events and volunteer initiatives for the Club’s CARE Volunteer Team (“CARE”).
• planning and execution of the strategy for the long-term development of CARE with a view to strengthening their capacity and profile as the Club’s ambassadors at the community level.
• engaging community partners with a view to identify suitable services for CARE.
• providing administrative support, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of events and effective communication.

The Job

• Plan and organise a wide range of volunteer services for CARE with a view to promoting a caring culture within the Club and in the community, as well as enhancing the positive image of the Club.
• Build and maintain good working relationship with external stakeholders including NGOs and community organisations.
• Support the team’s administrative and logistic works in engagement occasions, corporate events as well as CARE volunteer service programmes.
• Conduct desktop research on potential community partners and programmes, and prepare recommendation documents. 
• Maintain an up-to-date membership database of CARE.
• Support the team to tie in with the Club’s business on expanding sports-related services which serves to be a unique element differentiating the Club with other corporates in terms of volunteering.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisors.

About You

• University graduated with a minimum of five years’ working experience in volunteer services, NGOs, project management, event management or public relations.
• Experience in planning and execution of CSR and volunteer programmes will be a definite advantage.
• Proven records of collaboration with government departments, local organisations and NGOs will be an advantage.
• Ability to be a good team player with positive working and learning attitude, be conscious, meticulous and self–motivated and be able to work independently.
• Self-confidence with strong communications and interpersonal skills, a pleasant personality and interest in meeting people.
• High level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Hands-on skills of Microsoft 365.
