Assistant External Affairs Manager (Community Relations)

Job Summary

The job holder contributes to strengthen the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club, charitable and sports organisation, through engaging key stakeholders. The job holder also assists in formulating and executing stakeholder engagement strategies to build up relationships with the Government, Members of Executive Council, Legislative Council and District Councils, political parties, key district and community stakeholders, as well as supporting the Club's betting businesses. The job holder's responsibilities may include preparing materials for meetings with stakeholders, advising on event attendance, arranging stakeholder visits and coaching team members.

 

The Job

You will:

  • Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies to develop an effective and reliable network of relationship with stakeholders, including government officials, Members of Executive Council, Legislative Council and District Councils, political parties' members, district and community stakeholders.
  • Assist in organising stakeholder engagement activities, briefings, meetings and/or volunteer programmes for government officials, council members, political parties' members, district stakeholders or other external and community stakeholders in support of the Club's initiatives, operations and related businesses.
  • Prepare written and presentation materials for the abovementioned engagement activities as and when appropriate.
  • Assist in handling sponsorship applications and overseeing the execution of sponsored projects and events.
  • Advise seniors on attendance of stakeholder engagement activities, Club's sponsored projects and events in accordance with relevant district event protocols and local political climate
  • Coach junior team members and collaborate with internal business units.

 

About You

You should have:

  • A minimum of 3-6 years' experience working in corporate communications, external relations, government relations, public relations, community engagement, media management and/or journalism, NGOs
  • A recognised university degree in public administration, communications, public relations, business studies and/or any other related disciplines
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have substantial experience in engagement with District Council Members, district administration, and/or the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. 

 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
