Assistant Facilities Manager (Carpark operation)

The Division

The Property Department is committed to providing integrated, customer-centric, sustainable and cost effective asset management, development management, project management and facilities management services to the key Business Units in the Club.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail oriented and service minded professional to support the smooth day to day operations of HKJC carparks.

 

The position plays a key operational role in ensuring all carpark facilities, equipment, and services are functioning properly, compliant with safety standards, and aligned with the Club’s operational needs. You will help coordinate resources effectively, support cost efficient operations, and ensure service quality is consistently maintained.

 

In addition, this role works closely with various Club departments to provide on the ground support for racecourse activities, non race day events, and other operational requirements. You will be a central contact point at the working level to ensure smooth execution and timely support for all related activities.

The Job

  • Support smooth and efficient facilities operations across all carparks, including resource planning, routine maintenance, and implementation of facility management procedures.
  • Follow established SOPs to minimise operational disruption during emergencies or unexpected incidents. Assist in keeping SOPs up to date and participate in regular drills, refresher trainings, and knowledge sharing activities.
  • Monitor the performance of service contractors and providers to ensure work quality, service standards, timelines, and SLAs are consistently met.
  • Work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders—including consultants, suppliers, and service partners—to ensure essential operational support such as first aid services, weather and transport updates, and event related service needs can be provided for our users, customers and racing personnel.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing SLAs and help ensure service delivery meets agreed KPIs and user expectations.
  • Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, capital works, and operating expenses related to carpark operations and facility upkeep.
  • Help ensure service levels are achieved through effective resource allocation, staff competency, contractor performance, and use of appropriate technologies. Engage in regular communication to address operational issues, customer needs, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Contribute to operational improvement initiatives by assisting in change management, supporting conflict resolution processes, and conducting periodic reviews of system performance and workflows. Assist in data collection and analysis to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Diploma or above in Property Management, Facility Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in facilities or property management, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role and 2 years of hands on carpark operations experience
  • Professional qualifications from recognised bodies (e.g., MCIH, HKIH, IFMA, BIFM, CFM) are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, customer service, and general coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong analytical thinking and ability to diagnose and resolve operational issues effectively
  • A dependable team player with maturity, enthusiasm, and a positive, service oriented attitude.
  • Solid experience in carpark management, conflict resolution, and complaint handling.
  • Proven problem solving and negotiation capabilities with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Good understanding of facilities management practices, including business ethics, security protocols, life safety standards, and customer service requirements.
  • Proactive, detail minded, deadline driven, and able to perform well under pressure.
