Assistant Manager, Mainland Racing Liaison

The Divison
The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement. With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.
The Job
- Supports and acts as the day-to-day contact for the execution of the Club’s equine sports development initiatives, and identify issues requiring attention.
- Facilitates the Club’s technical support projects encompassing various internal and external parties.
- Collects intelligence related to the comprehensive racing industry value chain in Mainland and the corresponding overseas interests, and monitors relevant government policies, to assist in generating insights to support the Club's Mainland business and potential development.
- Monitors Mainland-related industry news, compiles regular summaries, produces racing newsletter and quality reports, papers regarding the latest development of the Mainland equine industry for senior management.
- Assists to develop a wide spectrum of industry contacts with racecourses, race operators, racing clubs, horse owners, trainers, jockeys, veterinarians, agricultural universities and research centers, in addition to officials responsible for equestrian sports, in the Mainland to maintain a network of potentially useful resources.
- Provides operational support to the team, whether in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
- Undertakes ad hoc assignments/projects as requested by Direct-Report and department Executive Manager.
About You
- 5 years’ experience in corporate relationship work/customer service/investigative reporting which involves significantly Mainland counterparts
- Bachelor’s degree holder, preferably in social science/journalism
- Basic understanding of the Mainland governance of equine sports and/or the related agricultural policies
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills for working in Mainland and in a multi-cultural setting
- Excellent research and communication skills in written English and Chinese and spoken English and Mandarin
- Equipped with diverse China experience, including and not limited to studying or working in Mainland
