Business Development Officer (Contract Management)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Sports Business Division is central to the Club’s overall aspiration to become a globally recognised sports and entertainment brand, with world-class horse racing at its core. The Division’s overarching focus is to deliver sustainable growth of the Club’s sports business, deepen customer engagement, and contribute to position the Club as a leading global sports and entertainment brand to enable its commitment to social betterment. Its strategy is delivered through three pillars: broadening the fan base and prospecting new customers, growing the sports wagering business, and building the Club’s brand and commercialising its assets.
Job Summary
The job holder reports to Senior Manager, Business Development of the Commingling Development and is responsible for executing the business development strategy, with a core focus on driving growth of the commingling business, securing partnerships with overseas partners / operators, and expanding the international footprint of Hong Kong racing.
The Job
- Drive contract preparation by reviewing and negotiating commercial terms in collaboration with internal departments. Ensure all agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies prior to execution
- Monitor and manage contract renewals and amendments on a scheduled basis to ensure they remain aligned with current business goals, compliance requirements, and strategic priorities
- Support strategic business projects and World Pool expansion; Assist with marketing initiatives to enhance World Pool brand visibility and develop customer incentive programs to lead financial upside
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with international partners to foster trust and long-term collaboration through effective daily communication
- Gather business insights from external stakeholders, structure the information effectively and distribute key data and updates to the appropriate internal teams
- Communicate business updates, progress, and challenges to internal teams, and coordinate cross‑functional efforts to achieve shared organizational goals
- Ensures compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy (RGP) and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's business
- Undertakes other duties as assigned by Line Manager
About You
- Degree in Business Administration, Communication, Marketing or related disciplines
- A minimum of 5 years working experience
- Proven working experience in business development, relationship management, contract/marketing administration or a related commercial role
- Good negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Customer centric, self-motivated, collaborative and able to work within tight timeline
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal, commercial and marketing documents
- An understanding of the racing industry or international sports is highly advantageous
