Charities Officer (6-month contract)(Inclusive Employment)

The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Job

  • Support Senior Manager/Manager to oversee Trust-funded project(s), including but not limited to assisting the development of project plan including the tasks, deliverables, schedules and resources required, and maintain a repository of documentations for project governance and audit purposes.
  • Support other grant-making functions such as assessing donation applications' merits, budget, outputs and outcomes.
  • Conduct research on social issues and community needs such as literature review, policy analysis and data analysis.
  • Handle other project management and administrative matters such as budget control, database maintenance, impact measurement, correspondence handling, arrangement of meetings and filing.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by management.

About You

  • Secondary school graduate or equivalent
  • Commitment in diversity and inclusion
  • Passion, strong drive and career interest in charity work
  • Basic Excel and PowerPoint skills will be an advantage
