Deputy Executive Manager, External Affairs (Government Relations)
Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for overseeing the Government Relations (“GR”) Team, maintaining and strengthening the Club’s relationships with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (“HKSARG”) and government related organisations, lobbying their support for the Club and its initiatives, providing advice to other divisions and assisting their operations which require HKSARG’s approval or assistance, as well as supporting feature raceday and other major event operations.
Major Tasks
- Assist in formulating and implementing comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies for EA to develop an effective and reliable network of relationship with HKSARG and government related organisations.
- Assist in devising stakeholder engagement strategies and action plans in support of the Club’s initiatives and operations at the government level.
- Assist in supporting major Club projects which involve HKSARG or require its assistance.
- Assist in overseeing major events, feature racedays and projects undertaken by EA to ensure successful delivery and supervising the work of teammates.
- Develops an amicable and effective working relationship with Assistant Executives and working level staff from other divisions and departments to achieve the Club’s initiatives and support its operations.
- Recommends allocation and utilisation of GR Team’s resources to EMEA(SR) to support stakeholder engagement strategies and specific initiatives and projects of the Club.
- Contributes to effective teamwork among GR Team and other teams in EA through a shared information platform related to their respective priorities and duties.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in government relations and/or public affairs.
- With good knowledge of public administration in Hong Kong.
- With proven record of good communication network with HKSARG.
- Well versed in the Club’s operations and able to create effective communication platforms between the Club and HKSARG.
- Sensitive to the latest social and political climate.
- With good project and stakeholder engagement execution skills, from planning, risk assessment, liaison to project effectiveness monitoring.
- With high proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
