Deputy Executive Manager (Grant Making)

The Job

  • To review, analyse and develop funding applications with a view to make recommendations to the Executive Director, Charities and Community for consideration; and to ensure the applications being reviewed and recommended are able to meet the community needs and in compliance with the Trust’s policies and guidelines.
  • To seek out new initiatives and explore opportunities of collaboration with the Government, tertiary institutions, and non-government organisations to meet the emerging and various needs of the community through charity contributions
  • To propose appropriate conditions to be followed by grantees, and monitor spending of donated funds, handle budget virements, assist in compiling statistical/financial/progress reports and project updates, as well as report on special situations and make recommendations to management.
  • To monitor approved projects to ensure that they are implemented and completed according to schedule, pledged output and outcome, and within the original agreed scope and budget
  • To engage in activities in relation to his/her respective projects including ceremonies, Voting Member Visits, Community Day and other related functions as part of the ongoing project monitoring process of approved projects, stakeholder engagement and new project development

About You

  • 12-15 years of relevant experience, with 10 years at a senior level, preferably in the education or public administration sector 
  • Solid track record of project management and organizational capability
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage team(s) and multiple stakeholders to achieve goals
  • Strong judgment, sensitivity, problem solving and people management skills
  • Good knowledge of talent/sector development, education programmes or cross-disciplinary schemes
  • Strong communication and liaison skills, both written and spoken, for collaboration with local and international institutions and organizations
  • Project Management skills; stakeholder management skills 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
