Deputy Executive Manager/Senior Manager, Charities (Institute of Philanthropy)

The Job

1. Strategic Leadership of Capacity Building (education and training programmes)

  • Design and implement a world-class capacity building programme tailored to the needs of the philanthropic sector in Asia
  • Develop content and learning pathways that cultivate leadership, innovation, and sector-wide capabilities
  • Collaborate with universities, faculty members, and thought leaders to curate relevant, contextualised content and deliver high-quality learning experiences
  • Incorporate immersive and experiential learning formats to enhance peer bonding and cohort development

2. Programme and Operational Management

  • Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of loP's core operations, including contributing to strategy development and supporting budget planning and financial management.
  • Provide recommendations to Management throughout the development process, from concept development to preparing board papers and ongoing management
  • Monitor the progress of anticipated outputs and outcomes, budget spending, and evaluation and impact assessment. Prepare regular progress reports and presentations to Management
  • Support the development and implementation of governance and controls to ensure effective operations of loP. Provide secretariat support for related committees and working groups as needed

3. Curation of High-Impact Convenings

  • Lead the conceptualisation and delivery of exclusive, high-trust convenings, such as IoP’s flagship Foundations Circle
  • Curate intimate gatherings that bring together senior philanthropic leaders (Principals, CEOs, Executive Directors) from Asia and globally to foster candid, action-oriented dialogue on high-impact giving
  • Ensure convenings are designed to foster lasting partnerships and collaborative opportunities among leading foundations and funders

4. Stakeholder and Partner Engagement

  • Work with consultants and external partners to deliver exceptional programme and convening experiences
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with foundations, academic institutions, non-profits, expert networks, and other key stakeholders
  • Identify and engage with potential collaborators who can enrich content and amplify impact

5. Other duties as per Reporting Officer

About You

  • Bachelor degree in business or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant managerial experiences, ideally in philanthropy, consulting, public sector, industry associations and/or network organisations
  • Excellent understanding of the philanthropic landscape regionally and internationally
  • Well experienced in multi-task project management

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
