External Affairs Officer (Sports Programme Management) (1-year Contract)

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.
Job Summary
Reporting to Senior Manager, External Affairs (Sports Programme Management) (“SMEA(SPM)”), the post holder assists in:
- implementation of sport-related community projects to promote the positive image of the Club for the betterment of Hong Kong.
- execution of the Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme (“JCAIAS”) and its relevant events.
- maintaining a network of relationship with sports organisations, community partners and NGOs with high engagement value through sponsorship, and/or community projects and to achieve the goals set by SMEA(SPM).
- administrative and logistics services in corporate events and community projects.
The Job
- Support in implementation of sport-related community projects, managing the JCAIAS and its relevant events.
- Maintain relationship with external sports stakeholders, NGOs and local sports associations;
- Prepare written materials for JCAIAS and other sports projects, including papers, budget, reports, meeting notes and function brief;
- Conduct desktop research and industry analyses related to sports development and issues relevant to the Club;
- Work with both internal and external parties on JCAIAS events and sports-related community projects/events;
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors
About You
- University graduated with working experience in sports organisations, NGOs, project management, or public relations
- Good knowledge of sports field in Hong Kong will be a definite advantage
- Ability to be a good team player with positive working and learning attitude, be conscious, meticulous and self–motivated and be able to work independently
- Self-confidence with strong communications and interpersonal skills, a pleasant personality and interest in meeting people
