Management Trainee - Legal Services Track
Job Summary
The Club’s Management Trainee Programme recruits and develops high‑potential individuals as future leaders of the Club — young talent aligned with our purpose of working continuously for the betterment of our society. As part of this accelerated three‑year programme, Management Trainees gain exposure to the Club’s unique integrated business model through structured learning, job rotations, and hands‑on project experience across the organisation.
For the 2026 intake, the Club has introduced a dedicated Legal Services Track, tailored for junior lawyers who aspire to build a long‑term in‑house legal career within a uniquely complex, mission‑driven organisation. The Legal Services Track combines in‑house legal advisory work with legal operations exposure and commercial and operational experience through rotations with selected business units, to develop practical, business‑oriented legal advisors.
About the Legal Services Department
Legal Services sits within the Legal & Compliance Division and supports the Club’s wide‑ranging business lines and operations. The team partners closely with internal stakeholders to:
- Facilitate commercial development and operational initiatives;
- Provide solutions‑oriented, commercially grounded in‑house legal advice; and
- Uphold regulatory compliance, integrity, and good governance.
The department offers a unique in‑house environment that blends legal rigour with practical application and close business collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured programme focusing on building in‑house legal, legal operations, and commercial capabilities;
- Assist with day‑to‑day legal advisory matters and documents review under supervision;
- Assist with legal operations work, including the preparation and maintenance of contract templates, workflows, precedents, and internal legal knowledge resources;
- Rotate through selected business units to gain hands‑on operational and commercial experience;
- Work closely with Legal Counsel and business stakeholders on legal, operational, and business initiatives; and
- Receive ongoing coaching and mentorship from experienced in‑house counsel.
Experience and Qualifications
Hong Kong‑qualified lawyers with under one year of post‑qualification experience, including newly qualified lawyers. Trainee solicitors completing their training contract on or before August 2026, with a strong interest in pursuing an in‑house legal career may also apply.
