Manager, Charities (Compliance)
The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.
The Department
The team focuses on policy and guideline development, as well as compliance matters for the Charities division.
The Job
- Support DEM (Operations) in the formulation of relevant policies, guidelines and procedures on Charities compliance matters with a view for ensuring proper governance for Trust-funded projects and the various aspects of the operations of Charities.
- Assist in conducting due diligence work and following up on specific compliance related issues, both related to Trust-funded projects and the operations of Charities.
- Assist in the reviewing and implement improvement process for enhancement of efficiency and governance related to Trust-funded projects and operations of Charities.
- Assist in carrying out relevant researches as required to support the development and formulation of proposals of special donations projects.
- Support the implementation of various strategic initiatives of SPOR and implementation of specific donation projects.
- Provide coaching, guidance and support to junior members of the Charities Department to facilitate them performing their daily tasks.
- Carry out other duties as directed by management.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 8-10 years' of relevant experience, preferably in compliance matters with exposure to NGOs, Government, or public and social service sectors
- Good computer literacy in using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, organizational and report writing skills
- Good communication skills and language proficiency (both English and Chinese)
- Good people management skills in leading and interacting with various stakeholders internal and external
- Ability to effectively manage multi-tasks and work under pressure
