Manager, Charities (Engagement)
Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of events and engagement activities of the Trust to reinforce the Club’s/Trust’s image, profile and voice leadership in the community and gain stronger public profile and reputation as the biggest community benefactor in Hong Kong and one of the world’s leading charity donors. He/She will collaborate with multiple divisions within the Club and other external stakeholders such as NGOs, academic partners, foundations, and government partners etc.
The Job
- Plan, coordinate, and execute strategic engagement programmes and activities, including signature events such as the PBC Forum, Scholarship Presentation Ceremony & Dinner, Community Trophy Race Day, Spring Luncheon, and other ad hoc initiatives.
- Foster strong collaboration and maintain effective communication with multiple divisions within the Club, as well as a diverse range of external stakeholders including academic partners, NGOs, foundations, and government agencies to ensure the successful organisation of events and initiatives.
- Collaborate with key partners inside the Club (e.g. Corporate Affairs, Membership) to drive publicity and communication efforts that enhance the Trust’s profile and brand image.
- Prepare proposals, progress reports, board papers, presentation and provide secretarial support on Trust-related engagement events and activities.
- Support the management of event budget and expenses, as well as procurement exercises.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and legal requirements.
Undertake other job tasks as assigned by supervisors
About You
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in event management, customer relations, or marketing communications.
- Proven track record in coordinating event logistics and managing relationships with key stakeholders; experience in managing digital channels is a plus.
- Familiarity with the social welfare sector, community services, or philanthropy is preferred.
- Experience engaging with high-net-worth individuals or corporate partners, particularly in the PRC or nearby regions, is an advantage.
- Excellent writing proficiency in both English and Chinese, along with strong communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Ability to engage stakeholders and establish rapport.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
