Manager, Charities (Engagement)

Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for implementing the engagement plan to proactively communicate the Trust’s strategies to relevant stakeholders. The job holder is also responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of events and engagement activities to reinforce the Club’s and the Trust’s image, profile and voice leadership in the community, as well as to enhance public profile and reputation as the biggest community benefactor in Hong Kong and one of the world’s leading charity donors. He/She will collaborate with multiple divisions within the Club and with external stakeholders such as NGOs, academic partners, foundations, and government entities etc.

The Job

  • Plan and execute strategic engagement programs and activities to enhance the Trust’s image as a major benefactor in Hong Kong.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the Trust’s signature events, including the PBC Forum, Scholarship Presentation Ceremony & Dinner, Community Trophy Race Day, and Spring Luncheon, among others.
  • Coordinate engagement events and publicity matters with beneficiary organizations for Trust-funded projects.
  • Engage and collaborate with academic partners, NGOs, foundations, government entities, and others to ensure the successful organization of events and initiatives.
  • Work with internal teams to drive publicity and communication efforts.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, presentations, and provide secretarial support 
  • Support the management of event budgets, expenses, and procurement processes.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

About You

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in event management, marketing communications, or customer relations, experience in managing digital channels will be a plus
  • Familiarity with the social welfare sector, community services, or philanthropy is preferable.
  • Proven experience in coordinating event logistics and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing proficiency in both English and Chinese, along with strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to details and works well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and establish rapport
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
