The Department
To assess and review donation applications, and support preparation of approval papers; to conduct research on social issues and new initiatives to meet the community needs; to plan and monitor implementation of Charities projects, and to liaise and maintain professional relationships with external partners.
The Job
- To assess and review donation applications’ support-worthiness, including analysis of the social issues, the applicant’s background, the reasonableness and feasibility of proposed programme content and budget. To liaise with applicants on proposal vetting and handle relevant administrative work. Support Executives / Assistant Executives in drafting approval papers and annexes
- To support initiation, development and implementation planning of Trust-initiated Projects, Priority 1 Projects, and other significant special projects
- To research social issues and new initiatives, to support the development of new projects or theme/issue strategies. Activities include literature review, industry/sector data analysis, in-house or externally managed surveys and focus groups, discussion with potential project partners, etc.
- To monitor (or support the Assistant Executive to monitor) approved projects to ensure that they are implemented and completed according to schedule, pledged output and within the original agreed scope and budget. Assess project change requests (virements) and prepare documentation for internal approvals
- To liaise with external partners (e.g. grant applicants, grantees, consultants) and internal counterparts (e.g. Finance, Procurement, IT) throughout different stages of the project lifecycle
About You
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 8 years relevant experience, preferably with exposure to NGOs, Government, policy research, or public and social service settings
- Good communication skills (both English and Chinese)
- Excellent English and Chinese writing skills
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Passions, strong drive and career interest in charity work
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
