Manager, External Affairs (Government Relations)

Job Summary

Reporting to Deputy Executive Manager, External Affairs (Government Relations) (“DEMEA(GR)”), Manager, External Affairs (Government Relations) ("MEA(GR)") is responsible for supporting the Government Relations Team (“GR”) to maintain and strengthen the Club’s relationships with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (“HKSARG”) and other key stakeholders; to lobby their support for the Club and its initiatives; and to provide advice to other divisions and assist their operations which require HKSARG’s approval or assistance.

 

The Job

You will:

  • Assist in formulating and implementing comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies for EA to enhance its effective and reliable working relationship with HKSARG; 
  • Assist in supporting major Club projects which involve HKSARG or require its assistance;
  • Assist in advising business units in their liaison with HKSARG with a view to ensuring the successful delivery of the Club’s initiatives;
  • Assist in conducting desktop research and preparing documents on a range of government policies relevant to the Club's business development and operations; and
  • Perform administrative and ad hoc tasks as required to support the smooth operation of GR

 

About You

You should have:

  • University degree or with relevant qualifications
  • Minimum of six years of experience in HKSARG, public bodies, government relations, public affairs, corporate communications and/or other related field(s)
  • Good knowledge of public administration, government structure, current issues and political development in Hong Kong
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese
  • Proven track record of good communication network with HKSARG
  • Proven track record of successful planning and execution of events involving high-profile guests
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and with great attention to detail
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills, from planning, risk assessment, liaison and coordination to monitoring and evaluation

 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
