Manager, External Affairs (Responsible Gambling)
Job Summary
The job holder assists in formulating and implementing the Club’s Responsible Gambling (“RG”) policy, plans, programmes and measures in a strategic, forward-thinking manner.
Major Tasks

To assist in driving and handling the secretariat work of the RG Committee, e.g. making plans to ensure that it can best serve its objective of continuously upholding the Club’s RG standard, as well as lining up meetings, preparing agendas, papers, presentations, minutes and other relevant documents. To assist in gathering views from RG Committee Members and making recommendations to Chairman of RG Committee.

To collaborate with the NGOs in planning and implementing the RG educational programmes in primary and secondary schools as well as tertiary institutions to demonstrate the Club’s commitment to promoting RG education successfully.

To assist in closely monitoring the relevant landscapes and conducting research and studies on RG, illegal gambling and other betting related issues for developing effective strategies to address and mitigate the risks brought by illegal gambling to the Club’s future business.

To assist in identifying areas of improvement of the RG policy and measures across the ten programme elements for achieving WLA Level 4 Accreditation, then plan and push forward the relevant initiatives across the Club, monitor their implementation and review their effectiveness.

To work closely with the Betting Teams on betting operations, products and other related matters, e.g. assisting in liaison with the Government, gambling-care NGOs and concern groups, providing input and other support from the RG perspective.

To develop and maintain good working relationships with gambling-care NGOs and concern groups, opinion formers, academia, as well as enhance their understanding of the Club’s RG efforts.

To coach junior colleagues on related subjects and perform other duties as assigned by SMEA(RG).
Education
University degree in a communications, public relations, public administration, business studies, external affairs or equivalent qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in external relations, government relations and/or media, corporate communications fields
- Have proven record of communication network with government bureaux, government departments, government advisory bodies, NGOs
- Solid experience in handling stakeholder engagement and public education programmes
- Well versed in operation of business departments of the Club and be able to acts as a bridge between the Club and external stakeholders on RG matters
- Basic knowledge on research, graphical design and multimedia production will be an asset
