Manager, Finance (Corporate Financial P&A)
Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and as part of the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team, the Finance Manager is responsible for managing the Club’s financial planning & analysis activities (Including financial budgeting and forecasting) as well as management reporting process focusing on P&OD (HR) Division and Residential Governance Committee. He/She will support the team to provide strategic and operational financial information, insight and recommendations to the Club’s senior management for effective decision making at the Club-wide level. Collaborating with the broader finance team, he/she will be the integral member to deliver a programme of financial process re-engineering across the finance teams within the Club (including, where possible, a focus on process efficiency, standardisation and automation) to establish and maintain best practices in end-to-end finance processes, systems and management reporting to better align business income and business activities to enable intelligent decision making, leading to a culture of continuous improvement.
Major Tasks
- Business Partnering
- Work closely with P&OD to align business objectives with financial and operational strategies.
- Serve as a liaison between P&OD and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, e.g. other finance team, HR and IT.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financials for management with variance analysis.
- Develop dashboards and reports to support decision-making analysis for Clubwide and divisional levels and provide timeline updates to management for actionable insights.
- Perform analysis following ad-hoc requests from management.
- Assist in exercising overall budgetary control on a Clubwide basis, monitoring overall financial performance, and identifying and analyzing major budget variances and trend deviations from divisions/operations.
- Conduct financial and operational analysis to evaluate business cases and funding request.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Communicate an integrated budget planning process with a comprehensive timeline to stakeholders.
- Facilitate budget/forecast reviews with analysis and follow up on action items and required additional reviews.
- Validate budget/forecast assumptions on OPEX, CAPEX, headcount before submission in system.
- Assist in drafting the Budget Paper for BOM and Finance Committee review.
- Provide accurate and timely reviews to management with analysis on the Clubwide performance and outlook.
- Change and Transformation
- Contribute to financial process re-engineering across the finance teams, including, where possible, a focus on process efficiency, standardisation and automation.
- Leverage existing and new technology to improve our financial processes, such as extending the use of visualisation, dashboards, and advanced analytics into our modelling.
About You
- At least 7-8 years of professional experience in the finance/accounting industry with knowledge of financial planning and analysis.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines with recognised accounting qualification.
- Relevant professional qualification(s) such as CPA.
- Good business acumen and strategic thinking with strong analytical skills.
- Skills in Data preparation and/or Financial modelling, such as Power Query is an asset.
- Data Visualization experience in managing datasets and creating dashboards is perferred.
- Interest or experience in Advanced Analytics (Machine Learning and AI) is desirable.
- Experience working in organizations with diverse operations and dealing with multiple stakeholders is beneficial.
- Other proficiencies includes:
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation and team player
- Good communication skills in English and preferably Cantonese and Putonghua
- Strong computer literacy in using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Working knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Financial System is an asset
