Manager, Mainland Affairs
Job Summary
The Mainland Affairs Department (Policy & Stakeholders Engagement) is responsible for strategic liaison and engagement with Mainland stakeholders in both governmental and non-governmental sectors through a wide range of programmes, events, and platforms to support the Club’s operations and development in the Mainland. The department also monitors policies, measures, and regulations relevant to the Club’s operations, identifying potential challenges and opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Manager, Mainland Affairs, the post holder will focus on supporting the project management of the Club’s equine-related initiatives in the Mainland, with particular emphasis on projects in the Yangtze River Delta region. This includes assisting in the development of communication strategies, plans, and tools to promote the Club’s position and enhance relations within relevant stakeholders. The post holder will also play a key role in devising engagement plans and collaborative programmes with stakeholders such as equine industry bodies, local authorities, and partners in the Yangtze River Delta, fostering sustainable and productive relationships that facilitate the Club’s equine projects and broader initiatives in the region.
The Job
You will:
- Support the preparation and implementation of the Club’s Mainland equine and Yangtze River Delta projects by developing project plans, vetting proposals, collaborating with partners, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes
- Assist in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders and provide secretarial support for working groups related to the Club’s equine and regional initiatives, including preparation of meeting materials, drafting papers and reports, and managing logistical arrangements
- Collaborate with relevant departments to develop publicity and communication materials that promote the Club’s equine initiatives, regional projects, and brand presence in the Mainland, particularly in the Yangtze River Delta
- Assist in identifying sponsorship and partnership opportunities aligned with the Club’s strategic equine and regional development objectives in the Mainland
- Monitor equine industry developments, social trends, and policies in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, providing insights and recommendations to support the Club’s decision-making and strategic planning
- Help build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, equine industry bodies, NGOs, foundations, and other key stakeholders in Hong Kong and the Mainland, with a focus on the Yangtze River Delta region
- Maintain and update the stakeholder management database and the central register for sponsorship and donation related to equine and Yangtze River Delta projects
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors
About You
You should have:
- A recognized university degree in social sciences, public administration, public affairs or a related discipline and relevant qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in Mainland affairs, government, NGO/ foundation
- Strong interest in and knowledge of Mainland political and socio[1]economic developments, policy trends, government administration, charity and community programmes
- Experience in the public sector and prior working relationships with Mainland organisations will be an advantage
- Good project management skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with an outgoing character
- A team player with a can-do spirit
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Proficiency in Putonghua is mandatory
