Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Membership and Customer Excellence (MCE) Division is responsible for delivering world-class experiences and deepening engagement across all customer segments. The team oversees operations of clubhouses, racecourses, and Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBBs), while enhancing member and owner value propositions and promoting interest in horse ownership and equestrian sports. It leads the Club’s customer experience strategy across digital and physical touchpoints, ensuring consistency, agility, and excellence. The Division also manages data strategy and governance to build a unified view of customers, enabling more personalised and impactful interactions.
Job Summary
This role drives strategic planning and business development for Racing Membership Growth and Development, enhancing the racing-centric value proposition.
The job holder develops and executes data-driven initiatives to attract and nurture young, affluent individuals with a passion for racing and ownership aspirations, strengthening acquisition, engagement, and long-term sustainability.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role ensures effective delivery of initiatives, continuous optimisation of offerings, and alignment with racing and ownership objectives.
The Job
- Strategic Planning Support
- Assist in research, data collection, and preparation of business cases for new initiatives.
- Support monitoring of KPIs, member engagement trends, and market insights to inform strategy.
- Draft reports, presentations, and updates for management and governance committees.
- Campaign & Initiative Execution
- Coordinate rollout of campaigns and initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Track progress and provide updates to stakeholders on execution status.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with Racing, Membership, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Event Planning & Customer Engagement
- Plan and execute member-facing events, including racing, equestrian, and lifestyle activities.
- Liaise with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Represent the Club in members’ engagement, capturing feedback and strengthening relationships.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct benchmarking of membership offerings against other clubs and premium lifestyle brands.
- Provide insights on best practices in members’ journeys and event experiences.
- Administrative & Coordination Support
- Manage project documentation, schedules, and logistics for strategic and event initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of all activities with the Club’s overarching strategic priorities.
About You
- A university degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related disciplines
- A minimum of four years of experience in business planning, marketing or project management at managerial level in a sizable organisation
- Experience in project management and business development
- Strong proficiency in stakeholders’ communications and senior management engagement
- Capable in delivering engagement campaigns across digital and event-based touchpoints
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Putonghua will be an advantage
