Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Sports Business Division is central to the Club’s overall aspiration to become a globally recognised sports and entertainment brand, with world-class horse racing at its core. The Division’s overarching focus is to deliver sustainable growth of the Club’s sports business, deepen customer engagement, and contribute to position the Club as a leading global sports and entertainment brand to enable its commitment to social betterment. Its strategy is delivered through three pillars: broadening the fan base and prospecting new customers, growing the sports wagering business, and building the Club’s brand and commercialising its assets. 

Job Summary

The job holder direct reports to Senior Manager, Raceday Sponsorship. The position is responsible for managing certain racing sponsors and ensuring high-quality delivery of sponsorship marketing rights and event production to help the club and the sponsors achieve its racing marketing and sponsorship objectives respectively.

The Job

• Deliver sponsorship contractual rights according to event timeline and Sponsor's objective. Provide attentive and professional services and advice to sponsors in relation to sponsored racedays and sponsor marketing activations
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure smooth event staging and fulfilment of sponsorship entitlements on racedays by planning and activating the sponsorship marketing programmes, operation flow, manpower and logistics arrangement and holistic integration
• Establish and maintain good relationship with sponsors/ clients, and manage sponsors expectations and explore continuous sponsorships
• Consolidate well-written budget reports, executive summaries, post-event reports, etc
• Be ready to perform raceday duties after working hours or on public holidays on a rotation basis with other team members
• Ensures compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club's businesses
• Anticipate and implement necessary changes to strategy and execution process to support the Club's objectives and challenges
• Manage team's operation and procurement exercises
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

About You

• Bachelor degree in Marketing or Business-related disciplines
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in business management/ sponsorship / marketing communications as well as strong network with relevant stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Good command in Putonghua would be an advantage
