Manager/Assistant Manager, Charities (IoP Strategic Communications)

The Department

The Institute of Philanthropy (IoP) is growing its strategic communications team to enhance its presence in the increasingly competitive space for philanthropic thought-leadership and to communicate the unique position and commitments of IoP. We are seeking a communications professional with an entrepreneurial spirit to execute and implement holistic communication strategies, plan and manage stakeholder engagement, and drive our content strategy across publications, social media, and other electronic means with a view to optimising IoP’s core mission. The selected candidate will become a critical member of a small team, reporting to and supporting the Deputy Executive Manager.

The Job

  • Strategic Comminications Execution
    • Assist in the implementation of IoP’s messaging strategy, ensuring consistency across reports, campaigns, and stakeholder engagements.
    • Provide initial drafts of content, supporting narratives that reinforce IoP’s thought leadership in philanthropy.
    • Assist in the management of external agencies, ensuring alignment with IoP’s brand, strategic goals, and messaging framework.
  • Media & Digital Engagement
    • Help strengthen IoP's media presence, identifying opportunnities for regional and global coverage
    • Maintain and optimize digital platforms, including LinkedIn, website content, newsletters, and social channels
    • Track engagement metrics, refining content strategies to enhance reach and impact
  • Media & Digital Engagement
    • Manage and housekeep IoP's communciation channels, including the annual report, webpages, publications and researhc materials, ensuring relevance and consistency.
    • Support the development of promotional campaigns that highlight IoP’s commitment and contributions to global philanthropy
    • Support collaboration with internal departments to maximize IoP’s presence and visibility, showcasing its integrated approach to impact
    • Contribute to the implementation of new IoP initiatives, ensuring strong communications support.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience in communications, philanthropy, nonprofit engagement, public affairs, or corporate communications.
  • Strong team player who can multi-task high-impact strategies within sizeable organizations.
  • Experience in media relations, stakeholder engagement, and digital communication.
  • Excellent communications skills and proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese).

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
