Racing Content Specialist
Job Summary
This job position is tasked with supporting Racing Division to promote Hong Kong’s world-class racing and its horses and horsemen. As part of the larger Racing Sports Marketing (RSM) team reporting to the Senior Manager of Content Development, the candidate’s scope includes idea generation, developing the creative and managing the production of multi-media content on the four key pillars: jockeys, trainers, horses and owners, with the aim to build them as icons and increase their awareness and affinity among general public, racing fans and Gen Z non-racing fans.
The Job
- Partner with Video Content Editor or external suppliers to produce a wide range of video content to promote Hong Kong racing to the widest possible local and international audience via multiple Broadcast and social channels. The ability to produce innovative ideas and put to execution which can be brought to fruition in a timely and efficient manner is essential along with the need to work closely with the rest of the RSM team to achieve maximum impact and exposure. KPIs will be to increase awareness of and affinity to Hong Kong racing, and video views and fan engagement on social media, as well as the quality of the content.
- Generate ideas and concepts that enhance the Club’s partnership with World Horse Racing. This will involve acting as one of the links between the Club and WHR, in order to facilitate the free flow of ideas and concepts for projects that will raise the profile of Hong Kong’s equine and human stars to a global audience.
- Take charge of all English copy-writing duties for RSM content, including videos, print/outdoor and social posts.
- Participate in the creative development process for other Racing Marketing projects when needed
- Produce content briefs, written articles, presentations and speeches to promote racing as a sport.
- Identify collaboration opportunities with different media platforms to promote jockeys, trainers, horses and owners and racing as a professional and lifestyle sport, and follow through with the execution up to launch.
- This role may also involve a critical corporate element that includes cross-department collaboration to assist with major events such as Asian Racing Conference and external networking with other industry experts, such as news publications, racing media and other racing jurisdictions.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by Senior Content Development Manager, Racing Sports Marketing.
About You
- At least a bachelor degree in Journalism, Communications, or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum of 10 years’ solid work experience in the development of marketing, advertising and/or corporate communication materials
- Good understanding of the political sensitivities, public sentiment and consumer insights
- Interest and knowledge of horse racing
- Relevant experience in team collaboration
- Experience in creative development and social media communication
- Excellent writing skills in a diverse manner, with creative copywriting being a priority, while sports or horse-racing related content is also preferred
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
