Senior Charities Officer (IoP Strategic Communications)

Job Summary

The Institute of Philanthropy (IoP) is growing its strategic communications team to enhance its presence in the increasingly competitive space for philanthropic thought-leadership and to communicate the unique position and commitments of IoP. This role will support the development and execution of IoP’s communications strategy, content creation, stakeholder engagement, and digital presence. The Senior Officer will work closely with the Manager/Assistant Manager to ensure cohesive messaging, media visibility, and audience engagement. The selected candidate will join a small team, reporting to and supporting the Deputy Executive Manager.

The Job

Strategic Communications Support

  • Assist in IoP’s messaging strategy by providing research and ensuring clarity and consistency across reports, campaigns, and stakeholder engagements.

Media & Digital Engagement

  • Support media relations efforts, maintaining and updating media lists and tracking coverage opportunities.
  • Support leadership and spokespeople in public engagements, interviews, and media interactions by managing media, photography, and other vendors.
  • Assist the Manager/Assistant Manager in maintaining IoP’s digital platforms, including LinkedIn, website content, newsletters, and social media, ensuring alignment with communication priorities.
  • Monitor and reporting on engagement metrics.

Content & Campaign Development

  • Provide research for the creation of promotional campaigns.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure visibility and strategic integration of IoP’s initiatives.
  • Supports to collaborate with internal divisions and departments of the Club to maximise the exposure and presence of the Club and its Charities Trust and to showcase the integrated business model of the Club to partners and stakeholders.
  • Supports to develop the implementation of IoP-wide new initiatives.

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, public affairs, media relations, or nonprofit engagement.
  • Experience managing content strategies, stakeholder engagement, and digital communications.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with media engagement and social media strategy.
  • Strong communications skills and proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) for translating and producing content for regional engagement.
  • Understanding of multi-channel communication strategies, including digital outreach and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to support crisis communications and reputational risk management.

 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
