Senior Manager, Business Strategy and Execution

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Membership and Customer Excellence (MCE) Division is responsible for delivering world-class experiences and deepening engagement across all customer segments. The team oversees operations of clubhouses, racecourses, and Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBBs), while enhancing member and owner value propositions and promoting interest in horse ownership and equestrian sports. It leads the Club’s customer experience strategy across digital and physical touchpoints, ensuring consistency, agility, and excellence. The Division also manages data strategy and governance to build a unified view of customers, enabling more personalised and impactful interactions.

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, MCE Business Strategy and Execution reports directly to the Executive Manager, MCE Business Strategy and Execution and plays a key role in advancing the MCE’s strategic priorities, with a focus on strengthening the membership proposition, enhancing customer excellence, and driving sustainable business growth.

 

The role leads strategic planning activities and develops frameworks that translate strategy into measurable outcomes while embedding new practices across the division. Working closely with business units and support functions, the job holder drives alignment between divisional priorities and organisational objectives, to enable effective execution of the division's strategic agenda.

 

Through the analysis of member needs, business performance, market trends, and customer feedback, the Senior Manager provides strategic insights that help shape business priorities and identify opportunities to enhance the division's membership proposition and customer experience.

Major Tasks

Member Value Proposition, Customer Outcomes & Growth

  • Partner with business units to identify and implement opportunities that strengthen the Club's membership proposition, enhance customer outcomes and drive growth.
  • Develop data-driven business cases and recommendations that support sustainable growth, enhanced member value and improved business performance.
  • Support business units in shaping and implementing initiatives that enhance customer outcomes and create value for members, customers and the business.

 

Business Strategy Execution

  • Partner with business units to adopt new ways of working and continuous improvement practices that support divisional priorities.
  • Partner with business units to advance divisional priorities and achieve strategic and commercial outcomes.
  • Support business units in addressing challenges that may impact achievement of divisional priorities.

 

Strategic Planning & Business Performance

  • Drive the development and refinement of the MCE division's strategic priorities in partnership with business units, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Develop strategic frameworks and approaches that translate divisional priorities into measurable business outcomes and value.
  • Partner with business units to shape and prioritise initiatives that support achievement of divisional objectives.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support leadership decision-making on business priorities, growth opportunities, investments and business trade-offs.

 

Strategic Alignment & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong partnerships across MCE and other divisions to drive collaboration on strategic priorities.
  • Influence decision-making through effective stakeholder engagement, communication and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment to support achievement of divisional objectives.
  • Establish appropriate governance and communication forums to support leadership visibility of divisional priorities and outcomes

 

Others

  • Develop capability of team members to perform the task above in an ongoing basis.
  • Perform research and benchmarking on market best practices relating to business strategy, customer excellence and organisational effectiveness, and recommend adoption where appropriate.
  • Promote innovation, learning and continuous improvement across the function.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Strategy, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related discipline.
  • 8-12 years of experience in strategy, business planning, management consulting, business transformation, business performance or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience developing business cases, strategic recommendations and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and facilitation skills
