Senior Manager, Charities (Talent & Sector Development, Bright Start 2.0)

The Department

Purpose:

To contribute to the Charities Department in achieving the Club’s vision as the world class charity and community benefactor solving Metropolitan social issues with innovations.

Scope and Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Charities or Executive Manager (Talent & Sector Development), the job holder will be part of the team in managing projects and initiating grants related to Early Childhood Development and Education.

 

The Job

  • Oversee the design, development and implementation of the project intervention and evaluations. Conduct internal and external stakeholders engagement as required to ensure successful delivery of these interventions and evaluations
  • Perform strategic portfolio management by overseeing Trust supported Early Childhood Development initiatives to amplify collective impacts. Consolidate learning insights for sharing with relevant stakeholders on a regular basis. Develop new grants as needed to actualise emerging potentials.
  • Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery. This includes but not limited to the Club Branding and Public Affairs in strategic communications and promotional campaigns; external consultants responsible for branding, technology experts and/or programme execution, and service providers. Engage government officials to facilitate impact creation and system change.
  • Develop and implement project governance and controls to ensure effective execution, including managing the advisory committee, supporting partners, and various taskforce groups
  • Perform other activities ranging from background research on related social issues, to drafting articles for publicity events as required by the Trust.
  • Monitor the progress of anticipated output and outcome, budget spending, handle budget virements and manage project evaluation and impact assessment.
  • Plan and oversee professional development of supporting team member.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience, with 7 years at mid-senior level. Preferably with knowledge in child development or social work sector
  • Solid experience of project management and organisational capability 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage team(s) and multiple stakeholders to achieve goals
  • Strong judgement, liaison, problem solving and people management skills
  • Events organisation and management experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Project management, stakeholder management skills
