Senior Manager, Charities (Talent Management and Training)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Department/Executive Manager and working closely with Programme Teams across the Charities and Community Division, the job holder will help design and implement targeted programmes to enhance talent development within the Division. The role will support EDCC and Heads of Departments in talent pipeline planning and fostering a continuous learning culture.  The job holder will also oversee onboarding and engagement initiatives, as well as supporting other assigned duties for the Department of Strategy, Planning, Operations & Reporting.

The Job

You will:

  • To support the Division in delivering structured and suitable onboarding programmes which facilitate new joiners’ adaptation and foster cultural alignment within the Division
  • To support the Division in designing and implementing a comprehensive and practical training framework that equips employees at various levels with managerial and leadership competencies to meet the Division’s business needs
  • To support Programme Teams and Functional Teams in talent development plans, aiming to enhance Team members’ managerial skillsets and domain knowledge, and devise suitable initiatives to promote leadership and learning opportunities for staff members
  • To support the Division's annual talent review process, partnering with various Teams to identify high-potential employees at all levels and devise suitable development plans to strengthen the Division’s succession pipeline
  • Employee Engagement: To support the Division in designing and launching initiatives (e.g. buddy programmes, social and network activities, Divisional Retreat, etc.) to deepen engagement and encourage a sense of belonging
  • To support the Division in developing and executing its People Development Plan, and coordinate with the Club’s People & Organisational Development Division on talent acquisition initiatives and other HR matters
  • To assist in the coordination of team-building activities for the C&C division
  • To carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of the Department of Strategy, Planning, Operations & Reporting

About You

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in the field of business, public administration or social sciences disciplines
  • 8-15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years at a supervisory level, preferably with exposure to public bodies, Government, NGOs, or professional services
  • Prior experiences in people management and/or human capital development will be a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage team(s) and multiple stakeholders to achieve goals
  • Strong judgment, sensitivity, problem-solving, and people management skills
  • Good knowledge of human capital development or cross-disciplinary schemes
  • Strong communication and liaison skills, both written and spoken, for collaboration with institutions and organisations
  • Passion, strong drive and career interest in charity work

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
