Senior Manager, Conference Programme (Charities) - 9 Months' Contract

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Department

This team will be the main driver of PBC 2026, our flagship international philanthropy conference bringing together global thought leaders, practitioners, and changemakers to advance urban philanthropy and social innovation.

The Job

  • Lead content curation, research, and programme development alongside internal teams and external consultants, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and thematic coherence (including the Main Forum and Fellowship Programme)
  • Manage full-cycle of speaker engagement – from outreach to pre-event briefings and on-site coordination, ensuring speakers are well-prepared and aligned on session objectives
  • Act as a primary contact with management, key stakeholders, high-profile and international speakers,
  • Ensure quality of bilingual communications and marketing materials, from speakers briefing notes to social media contents
  • Provide strategic input on risk management and contingencies related to speakers and programme, including on-site operations, speaker hospitality, and session management

About You

  • A University degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in brand management, marketing, customer service, or event management at a managerial level
  • Proven experience in developing communication projects and managing major events, along with establishing relationships and liaising with clients, guests, or members
  • Proven track record in conference or event management, preferably within the public, social, academic, or philanthropy sectors
  • Strong content curation and research skills with ability to create compelling, thematically coherent programmes aligned with current trends and interests
  • Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills, with experience working closely with senior leaders, international speakers, and diverse functional teams
  • Knowledge of customer service trends and best practices in service-related industries
  • Strategic mindset with an eye for detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Passionate about philanthropy, social innovation, and fostering international collaboration
  • Excellent bilingual communication skills (English and Chinese)
