Senior Manager, Transformation Programme

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

 

The Division

The Transformation Office (TO) plays a pivotal role in driving the transformation journey. Its purpose is to set the direction and cadence for transformation programs, ensuring the Club’s future growth and sustainability of its existence and developing into a healthy, high-performing organisation. 

 

Job Summary

The job holder will support the Head of Transformation Programme in driving the successful execution of the Club’s strategic transformation agenda. This role is responsible for driving strategic transformation initiatives that enable the Club to achieve its long-term goals. This role focuses on strategy-setting, initiative design, and roadmap execution, requiring strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and experience in designing target operating models.

Given the scope of the role, the position requires a high degree of autonomy, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence across departments and senior leadership. The job holder must also demonstrate integrity and sound judgment, particularly when managing sensitive information.

The Job

Strategy and Roadmap Execution

  • Define transformation strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Design initiatives and develop clear, actionable roadmaps to deliver business outcomes.
  • Monitor progress and ensure timely execution of strategic priorities.

Problem-Solving and Analysis

  • Diagnose complex business challenges and identify root causes.
  • Develop innovative solutions that balance short-term needs with long-term sustainability.
  • Use structured frameworks to evaluate options and recommend optimal approaches.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver transformation initiatives.
  • Engage senior stakeholders to secure alignment and sponsorship.
  • Influence decision-making at executive level through clear communication and data-driven insights.

Target Operating Model Design

  • Contribute to designing new operating models that enable agility and efficiency.
  • Support adoption of modern practices such as Agile ways of working, OKR-setting, and process redesign.
  • Facilitate workshops and change interventions to embed new behaviours.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Define and track KPIs and project milestones.
  • Maintain programme documentation and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess impact and drive continuous improvement.

Lead or support ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Manager.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, transformation or PMO role
  • Experience in operating model design and organisational change is highly desirable
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, organizational, communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
