Senior Manager/ Manager, Charities (Strategy and Planning)

The Department

Reporting to Senior Manager, Charities, the job holder will have the primary duty to support the Senior Manager for departmental strategic development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and review.  

The Job

  • Support Senior Manager to drive regular communications with Trustees for the Charities Department and working closely with programme teams, and other teams under SPO to support the department’s strategy and planning initiatives, including but not limited to donation pipeline coordination, consolidating divisional operation plans, budget planning and control, professional fee coordination, preparing regular strategic update to Trustees, gathering fact base (data, stories, learning and insight) from the Trust’s project portfolio, manpower plan, and produce relevant content and materials for the Club's management team and Charities' Trust's review.
  • Work with Senior Manager to manage and execute related Charities’ strategic research projects, carried out internally or in collaboration with external researchers.
  • Support the development of new initiatives e.g. Grantee Relationship Management system development, impact measurement and reporting framework and TIP 3.0, which aims to conceptualize a relevant and robust methodology and process to articulate social impact of the Trust, etc.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments in the philanthropy / grant-making community both in the Greater China, Hong Kong and globally, and related government policies that may have strategic impact.
  • Work closely and maintain smooth cooperation with other divisions and departments for cross department initiatives, for example operations audit, regular management reporting for the Charities Department, etc.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to junior members of the Charities Department to facilitate them performing their daily tasks.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by management.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 8 years' relevant experience in consultancy services, strategic and planning, preferably with exposure to NGOs, Government, or public and social service sectors
  • Good computer literacy in using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good in numbers and/or statistics
  • Strong analytical, organizational and report writing skills
  • Good communication skills and language proficiency (both English and Chinese)
  • Good people management skills in leading and interacting with various stakeholders internal and external 
  • Ability to effectively manage multi-tasks and work under pressure
