Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Sports Business Division is central to the Club’s overall aspiration to become a globally recognised sports and entertainment brand, with world-class horse racing at its core. The Division’s overarching focus is to deliver sustainable growth of the Club’s sports business, deepen customer engagement, and contribute to position the Club as a leading global sports and entertainment brand to enable its commitment to social betterment. Its strategy is delivered through three pillars: broadening the fan base and prospecting new customers, growing the sports wagering business, and building the Club’s brand and commercialising its assets.
The Job
- Support the development and execution of a five‑year sponsorship commercial strategy, including board reporting and progress tracking
- Identify new categories, assets, and growth opportunities, translating insights into commercially viable propositions and business cases
- Provide market intelligence, performance analysis, forecasting, and benchmarking to support sponsorship decision‑making
- Develop standardised sponsorship packages and lead the creation of insight‑led proposals and pitch materials in collaboration with Sales and Design teams
- Ensure proposals align with approved revenue, valuation, and margin targets, identifying cross‑sell and upsell opportunities
- Support senior‑level partner engagement and represent HKJC at relevant industry events
- Foster collaboration across commercial functions and champion data‑driven decision‑making
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related discipline
- At least 10 years of solid experience commercial strategy, business development, or ventures, ideally across more than one of: management consulting, sports/entertainment, or startup/venture/private equity
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to build business cases and translate insights into action
- Solid understanding of the Asia sports marketing landscape and brand decision‑making
- Confident and credible in senior, client‑facing stakeholder environments
- Entrepreneurial, results‑driven, and hands‑on mindset
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed organisation
- Good command in both written and spoken English. Chinese would be a plus.
